Renowned lock company, Yale has launched a pioneering retrofit digital lock for timber doors, which fits onto most nightlatches. Locksmiths will now be able to offer customers convenience without compromising on the security of their door.
The ‘Yale Keyless Digital Lock’ can be fitted to the majority of timber doors, and is simple and easy to install, which is expected to prove popular with both locksmiths and door installers. Customers will be able to access and secure their home, garage or garden building using a personalised PIN code of between 4 and 12 digits. The digital lock requires no keys and the pin code can be changed at any time for added security.
Available with and without a nighlatch, the Yale Keyless Digital Lock is a battery-operated unit and has undergone rigorous weather and security testing before being launched to market.
Commenting on the new innovation, Sorab Khanna, Yale Product Manager, added, “Yale’s Keyless digital door lock for timber doors is a clear innovation to the market, offering an ideal upgrade opportunity for locksmiths to present to those consumers looking for a more convenient front door solution, without compromising on security.
“Electronic locks have already been used in hotels and offices for many years and the same technology, Yale Keyless Digital Lock enables this luxury and convenience to be available for the home. It’s versatility and flexibility in design eliminates the need to carry keys, making life easier and more convenient for every member of the family.”
