Cars outside Garage Doors: A Brief Insight into Western Opulence

The invention of the garage can be credited to Henry Ford, who smashed through the wall of his shed in 1896, because he couldn’t get his newly invented Quadracycle out through the doors. For over a hundred years since, garages have been used for storing and protecting cars across the world. Or at least, this is what I used to think before somebody pointed out that very few people actually use their garage for storing their car!

The Growing Size of Garage Doors

As the size of cars continues to increase, so does the size of our garages and garage doors. Large family cars are now so big that many of them don’t even fit into older garages, or have to be parked right up against the wall in order for the driver to get out!
